News and updates about Transypoo! and the guy who draws it!

Well, a recent example brought up on another comic I read is "marde" versus "merde." The discussion:

Sunset Grill wrote:AlpineBob: Does "Marde" indicate a regional accent?
Because I always thought it was "Merde".

Shiara: It's because it's based off of Quebecois rather than French French.

katastrophe: Yeah, to the best of my limited ability, I use Quebecois. The exact usage quote I pulled this from was "Notice that, whereas European french say merde, and often enough mean it in a pleasant way, Quebecois say marde, and don't."

I'm pretty crap at the French yet, but I try. :P

I've been meaning to mention this comic anyways (especially as I found it via an ad on Transypoo), but, yeah. It incorporates French as a slang language (since, iirc, in the story, any language other than English is outlawed), and, so, that discussion came up.

Note: katastrophe = the author, artist, etc. of Sunset Grill.

But, yeah... There's apparently that level of difference. But it all stems more from me being told by various people from Quebec that France French is more convoluted and such... To the point it's like having to learn a whole other language. I've also heard similar from people who have visited France, more about the slang in French, making it more convoluted (and I don't mean just the inclusion of English).

I dunno, as I've said throughout this all: It's all just based on what I've been told by others, so I have no idea how sound it is... If it is as you say, then *shrugs*. But, if it really is that convoluted now, then, yeah. Would seem that even you are out of the loop, then.

Well, it's not like I've ever been to Quebec.

Although with the help of my more Francophonic relatives I've tried to give Transypoo more of a modern French slang feel to his words.

Also, the last time I watched a Quebecian movie... I had to rely entirely on the subtitles.

So we get to see Transypoo's thoughts...

... Should I start fearing now or later? ;x:

Apparently Acey is psychic. Funny what we learn about our own characters in someone else's comic.

rofl... I'll laugh if you find a way to work that into Transypoo. :P (Just not permanently, I hope. O_o::;: Well... Unless it's a psychic link he gets only with Transypoo, which would make such things as vocal issues not so much of a hassle. ;x: )

Yes!

Also I realized after the fact that the first panel is a 'traffic cone' :happy3:

Also, I don't know if anyone's ever noticed but I don't use thought balloons in Transypoo, so if (and or WHEN!) I have a comic where Acey gets psychic powers that would be the only time to do so. :O_^

I like Transypoo's reaction to seeing his own thoughts.

The not using thought bubbles thing helps to keep them organized if/when you ever do use them.

I think I will do a story about it. It can be a short between stories.

Any ways, I'm downloading Comic Press, it looks really slick and has more interaction possibilities. (one of my favorite comes Pajama Forest uses it and looks awesome!

If it works out I'll just have to reupload everything and change the URL on the front page!

I've often wondered if you don't have more of an interest in more childish and comedic things compared to the rather serious and dark things I get into... But at least I do enjoy other things, so I'm not all overloading with that seriousness and darkness. :O_^

Yeah, I wouldn't mind. I make no promises, though. Regardless, any "power" I might be given, I'd want taken away after I either fail or finish it.

Are there any external files I might need? If so, we should figure a way of transferring those. (SendSpace is good, if you don't mind it. Auto-deletes after 7 days of inactivity, no registration required. But it does come in handy for tracking what you upload. )

So... I was wondering if they'd try and break out again or not. Now to wait for the part where Acey points out how unsuccessful their last attempt was, while Transypoo continues on his usual ways, not listening to sense or reason, ending up being right that it was good to try again due to the other Mutates all going mutiny. Ahh, gotta love seeing the inevitable "Acey was wrong"... :O3^:

Something I thought might happen, though, is that the scientist guy would try and "reboot" Transypoo or something. Guess he was too fascinated by Transy's "rewrites" to do anything about it - which makes sense as far as scientist characters go, as they're usually all about discovery and such. So something as unusual and unprecedented as this would definitely override their common sense and result in Transypoo staying himself, leading to the eventual escape.

I just can't wait for everyone to realize what perfect timing it is. Makes me wonder if the military people will think that Transypoo brought some sort of virus or such that effected the other Mutates or not... Like, will they essentially "pass the blame onto him," or will they struggle to find the actual answer? Wondering how deep their arrogance runs...
