The toy I lost in France...

Postby Transypoo » Mon Aug 29, 2011 3:18 pm

So, when I was but a wee lad, my parents sent me to France for Christmas as my Sisters' Christmas present. I got lots of stuff that trip including the Turtle Copter! (It even said "Tortue Ninja" on it!)

But unfortunately, my sisters wants to show me off and visit their relatives, so I was dragged all over the place staying one night in some places. They were, also, not very good packers and I have a tendency to spread my stuff around to make my temporary living space feel like it's 'mine'. So, I lost a good chuck of my gifts one by one on each move.

I still have the Turtle Copter, so that's fine, but I had gotten a M.A.S.K. vehicle at the time, and the only part hat came home with me was the stupid driver and his clone made of green jello.

Well, I thought about it, and wanted to see if it was as totally awesome as I remember it being during the few short days I owned the thing. So I found it online:

Turns out, yes, it's just as awesome as I remember it. Now I want it back! ARG!

My step-dad gave me a bunch of my step-brother's toys back before he started being an a*****e to me. Some of those were MASK figures. Can actually remember them based off of looking at them.

I'd love to have those vehicles still... Would be great for customs.

Ahh, what a great toy line. It still feels like VENOM has to be a subsidiary of Cobra. (The switchblade it totally a Cobra vehicle. It's also awesome!)

Imo they were a great blend of GI Joe & Transformers. I'd like to see a remake of it actually - especially as I never saw the original toon.

The original cartoon had an awesomely 80's theme song:

I never saw it much, but it's coming out on DVD soon.

Also, they officially made it part of the G.I. Joe universe with the Matt Trakker Joe. VENOM has been established in that figure's bio as a division of Cobra, but they made MASK still independent of the Joes.

They also made Trakker a complete badass with his new headsculpt. Do NOT mess with this man!
