Looky what I got! The Next Generation

A place to discuss anything you wish, within reason of course.

Wow! And here I thought my upcoming PoL (Warden, Diesel, Mania King, and Sideshow Collectibles' Baroness doll from G.I. Joe) was big! Waiting to ship that thing until something or other else drops into it. I've been enjoying Uranos a lot in the meantime!

Transypoo found me deluxe Scoop and Centuritron (hoping I can find Transypoo the Legends Prime) and I found Skywarp myself today.

Haven't gotten much over the past month-and-a-half or so, but have managed to secure (via some friends in other countries) some stuff that's pretty rare right now. Namely:

-Beast Hunters Unicron Megatron
-Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus (commander)
-Beast Hunters Bludgeon
-Generations Swerve & Flanker
-Generations Cosmos & Payload

I'm hoping sometime between now and Botcon I'll be able to find a decent price on that last wave of Beast Hunters Legions and Construct-Bots that's showing up in Europe and Australia so I can complete the Predacon ranks... Man, I want Rotgut and Construct-Bot Skystalker...

Again, not a whole lot over the past month, but I've been focusing on acquiring some of the Beast Hunters stuff that was cancelled in the U.S, namely:

-Rotgut
-Beast Hunters Divebomb
-Ace Vehicon
-Beast Hunters Bluestreak
-Beast Hunters deluxe Twinstrike
-Beast Hunters deluxe Windrazor
-Construct-Bots Skystalker WHO IS AMAZING. Dear heavens, they completely revamped the Construct-Bots-- practically NOTHING is the same as the Year 1 stuff, not even the main torso (which transforms a bit by itself for dragon mode)! More ball joints, and the sheer amount of weapons, plus how Skystalker just LOOKS in both modes-- man, I haven't been this surprised by a toy's quality in a LONG time. I originally was just planning to pick up the CB Predacons (Skystalker and Ripclaw) ever since it was announced their U.S. release was likely canned, but now I want all the Beast Hunters stuff from this subline (and am looking forward more to the AoE Construct-Bots). Skystalker puts Construct-Bot Predaking to shame, he really really does.

Kinda went a little crazy at Target today, but I couldn't resist all the new stuff! SoI ended up getting: Construct-bots Grimlock and Mini Prime, Cosmos & Swerve with their respective partners, and Deluxe Slug and Scorn!

In my continuing effort to make Transypoo feel like Mr. Frugal, here's my TF4 launch haul (now that all my Cybertron Monday preorders have come in as well as a few things I picked up on the actual launch day):

Image

-Generations Crosshairs
-Generations Slug
-Generations Scorn
-Generations High Octane Bumblebee
-Generations Hound
-Generations voyager Grimlock
-Generations Evasion Mode Optimus Prime
-Generations Galvatron
-Generations leader Grimlock
-Generations leader Optimus Prime
-Power Attackers Hound
-Power Attackers Strafe
-Power Attackers Bumblebee
-Power Attackers Crosshairs
-One-Step Changer Optimus Prime
-One-Step Changer Grimlock
-One-Step Changer Drift
-One-Step Changer Lockdown
-Flip & Change Optimus Prime
-Flip & Change Grimlock
-Mr. Potato Head Mixable/Mashable Optimus Prime
-Mr. Potato Head Mixable/Mashable Starscream
-Mini-plushie Grimlock
-KRE-O Galvatron Factory Battle set
-KRE-O Lockdown Air Raid set
-KRE-O Grimlock Street Attack set
-KRE-O Microchanger Combiner Volcanicon
-KRE-O Microchanger Combiner Obsidian
-KRE-O Microchanger Combiner Grimstone
-KRE-O Microchanger Combiner Lazerbolt
-KRE-O Character Encyclopedia w/ Orion Pax Kreon
-Construct-Bots Strafe
-Construct-Bots Grimlock ($10 pricepoint)
-Construct-Bots Scorn
-Construct-Bots Slug
-Construct-Bots Slash
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Bumblebee
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Optimus Prime
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Drift
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Crosshairs
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Hound
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Lockdown
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Warrior Optimus Prime w/ Gnaw
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Warrior Lockdown w/ Hangnail
-Construct-Bots Dinobot Warrior Drift w/ Roughneck

I have to say, Construct-Bots continue to get better and better. I've only opened Rider Bumblebee & Strafe so far, but they are both AWESOME and leaps and bounds above the 2013 Construct-Bots. Fun fun fun, and a flapping gimmick on Strafe too!
The "kiddie" lines are also better than they were for DotM. The Power Attackers seem pretty solid but just more simple, sort of like toys we'd have gotten in the early '90s. One-Step Changers and the Flip & Change toys are also fairly solid (at least among the couple I've opened so far) and fun to transform-- you just can't be an articulation stickler with 'em.

Geez. I don't know why, but every time I see one of your hauls it makes me want to roll in them.

I got some Birthday money from my dad and I got Voy Grimlock, Construct-bots Lockdown, Strafe, and Mini Lockdown.

I agree the Construct-bots are amazing! You can barely tell that these aren't normal TFs in most cases. Opening Voy Grimlock was actually kinda disappointing by comparison.

On another note, outside of the face that they are in the wrong order, Grimlock's instructions are the most concise I've seen in a long time.

Rampage is starting to ship, so that's another one to watch for.

The first FSS figure, Barricade, is also starting to ship to people (with our FSS subscription, I get both our copies of the figure, and then give you yours).

-KRE-O Cell Block Breakout set
-KRE-O Grimlock Unleashed set
-KRE-O Custom Kreon Drift
-KRE-O Custom Kreon Movie Optimus
-KRE-O Custom Kreon Lockdown (one of his official configurations is the gun-head thing!)
-KRE-O Custom Kreon Ratchet

AND, two MAJOR scores for me:
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bots Unicron Megatron w/ Ratbat & Barrage
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bots Bulkhead w/ Airazor & Wolfang

Found someone in Slovakia who was able to hook me up with these for cost (the rest of the Beast Hunters Construct-Bots should be here within a week or so). So excited I was able to get these, particularly Unicron Megatron and (soon) Ripclaw!

Monthly update, including a medium-sized haul I received from BBTS a few weeks ago because I was reaching my 180-day limit on my Pile of Loot:

-All the Botcon 2014 exclusive figures (including the Kreon Microchangers)
-TakaraTOMY Fireblast FoC Grimlock
-BMOG Ursenal & Mant-axe, Botcon '14 exclusive purple Pirate colors
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bot Starscream
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bot Ripclaw
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bot Bumblebee
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bot Optimus Prime
-Beast Hunters Construct-Bot Shockwave
-Construct-Bot Dinobot Warrior Bumblebee w/ Nosedive
-Construct-Bot Dinobot Warrior Hound w/ Wideload
-Construct-Bot Dinofire Grimlock w/ Optimus Prime rider figure
-Masterpiece Sideswipe
-Masterpiece G2 Sideswipe
-Maketoys' My First Blaster accessory for my Swerve
-MMC's Leo Dux (Razorclaw)
-TFC's Gear of War 3 (Sixgun)
-Warbotron's Air Burst (Blast Off)
-Warbotron's Heavy Noisy (Brawl)
-Toyworld's Swamper (Skullcruncher)
-Generations Tankor
-Generations Rattrap
-Generations Tailgate w/ Groundpounder
-Generations Skrapnel w/ Reflector
-TFC's Gumball (Streetwise)
-Lost Age Dispensor (mildly disappointed he doesn't actually fire soda can projectiles, but still a cool figure-- and a painful reminder of how much smaller and lighter deluxes have gotten since the first movie line)
-Lost Age Ratchet G1-esque redeco
-Lost Age Protoform Optimus Prime G1-esque redeco
-Lost Age Jolt
-Lost Age Darkside Soundwave
-Lost Age Dino

Plus, you guys left just a minute too early-- my name got called, I actually got one of those Hasbro packages they were giving out at the end of Botcon! Unfortunately it was a kid-sized Bumblebee backpack with mostly some kid-sized TF T-shirts inside (which I gave to a kid who wasn't leaving Botcon with much), but I did get an Autobot cap and a Loyal Subjects Shrapnel figurine with it, too.

Well, I took the plunge, cancelled a few BBTS preorders, and bought the SDCC Dinobots on eBay! Since I'm barely getting any AoE stuff, and thought these looked great at Botcon (chrome!!!) (and they can inhabit a G1 or Movie collection)...no regrets. Plus, that playset!!!

Consequently, I also preordered the G1-style Slog on Amazon. He'll come out in December to complete the set. Kudos to Hasbro for announcing that one AT Comicon! In previous years, they might have left us hanging on where he would show up.

Monthly update time-- fairly sparse compared to the last couple of months, which is a good thing for my wallet:

-SDCC 2014 exclusive G1-colored Movie Dinobots set
-SDCC 2014 exclusive Knights of Unicron set (the wigs are a pain to get on the heads, but otherwise SO awesome of a set)
-TFCC Thrustinator
-TFCC Treadshot w/ Catgut
-Masterpiece Sunstorm (US version)
-AoE Generations deluxe Lockdown
-AoE Mega One-Step Bumblebee
-KRE-O "Optimus Prime Dino Hauler" set
-Rescue Bots Optimus Primal T-Rex (smaller version)
-Rescue Bots Bumblebee raptor
-Mech Ideas' Bluster and Trench (aka Animated Huffer & Pipes-- hooray, more Animated!)

EDIT: Hey, 1,000th post! Whee!
