Theory time!

Based on this flashback scene from this month's upcoming issue (preview above): Is Brainstorm secretly undead because he got zapped by Nova's corpse in this flashback scene before LL launched? It would explain why the Sparkeater ignored him, and it makes Skids' line, "...then he's already dead" with reference to the Sparkeater wayyyy back in issue 3 have a double meaning.

Roberts, you scamp!

There's also the whole thing in Remain in Light where he talks like he was forged (e.g., referring to bots who are constructed cold as knockoffs) and then gets zapped by Tyrest's Killswitch along with the other bots who are constructed cold, suggesting that he is really constructed cold himself.

So he's keeping secrets, clearly. That briefcase will factor into this.

Also, you can see Arcee in what is probably her toy design on the big splash page. Judging by the fact that Jetfire has been rebuilt into his new Leader body (after his axing by Apeface a number of issues back). I wonder if Barber knew about the upcoming toy and that's why he had Jetfire get wounded.

These guys are too much!

Seriously pretty art!
Another cover, too!

Also, Transformers vs. G.I. Joe looks like a lot of fun, too! Full-on retro craziness!

I wonder if this is Arcee's new toy? Milne said the design in the last issue of MtMtE was inspired by it, but not exactly what was going to be made. This one has an Earth mode.

Also, man, Thundercracker really loved that TV show he was watching all through the Costa run! He's writing his own screenplay!

And he has a puppy!

Gosh, Guido needs a series of his own, in this style. Get Flint Dille to write it when he finishes Primacy.

Or "Eart," as she called it.

I dunno, I find myself with decidedly mixed notions with MTMTE lately. For example, the line:

Nautica: "I think for an intuitive weapon to promote long-discredited notions of moral absolutism is problematic in the extreme."

Illustrates my growing conflicts with MTMTE in a microcosm. It's meant to be hilarious given the context, and it is; the whole preview is extremely well-written; BUT the phrase "long-discredited notions of moral absolutism" is, philosophically I think, just plain wrong, and I think there's a sizable part of the population that believes so as well. (In my belief actions are either right or wrong, period; no INDIVIDUAL human is completely black or white, but actions usually are.) For the first, I dunno, two-thirds of a year or so MTMTE was my favorite TF fiction ever, no question, period. But as fan support has rallied behind him, I think Roberts is getting increasingly brazen on inserting his socio-cultural/political beliefs into his fiction where, quite frankly, they shouldn't be. (Let's not forget this comic is read by kids, though certainly they at least warn that the youngest kids shouldn't read it.) Given that apparently he's said "Season 2" will deal more with "feelings", I feel like this is only going to continue to get more common. It's certainly not enough to get me to drop the book by any means-- yet. However, I do worry about some possible future date where Roberts goes too far on some point and I drop the only TF comic I've ever dropped because his otherwise incredible writing gets polluted too much by this.
