TF: Prime

G.I. Joe is DEAD, Prime needs a dedicated topic.

So, Beast Hunters seems to be the subtitle for the next season of Prime. A cool idea really, plus it makes sense what with that Beast Captian guy. (The Lion?)

If true, it would also tie in the the rumors of Grimlock's addition to the show. Plus, I guess, Savage/Noble up there in the picture.

Heh, this time the Beasts and the villains and the robots are the heros.

Transformers Prime voice actors Jeffrey Combs and Tony Todd are appearing at the El Paso Comic Con in Texas this weekend - and at a joint panel Jeffrey Combs has dropped a few bombshells regarding the future of the Transformers Prime series. By way of 2005 Boards member MiraiBaby who is at the convention we can relay this news to you:
Season 3 will only last 16 episodes
Combs just finished recording the last episode to season 3
Jeffrey Combs is quoted as having said "Unfortunately this iteration of the franchise is coming to an end"

Huh.
If the series after this isn't Beast Hunters (i.e., Beast Hunters IS Season 3), I hope that whatever it is stays in this continuity!

At least now everyone who hated Prime will love it now that it's coming to an end and will hate whatever comes out next and say that it will never be as good as Prime! :smile2:

Edit: I just realized that several of the last episodes were written by Bob Skir! That would be crazy if he became the head writer for Beast Hunters. Everything full circle.

I hate that as soon as we (well, I) get "used" to one line, it changes. I'm not saying we should go back to uber-long lines like how long the G1 toyline lasted, but I was really looking forward to a good long series with a buncha stuff building up over time without having to re-explain the basics to us again.

Maybe that's why I think the movie toylines are generally underrated, I dunno.

Then again I get board with an aesthetic if it runs too long, like the movie line, by the third movie I was really excited about anything that didn't look like a movie toy.

I think 'rebranding' is a good idea, like Transmetals, and Transmetal 2, Armada-Energon-Cybertron. So, if maybe Prime is changing to Prime: Beast Hunters it might be a refreshing change. Like having all those planets from the UT.

But I guess we'll see what happens.

Well, apparently it's not being canned anyway after Season 3 via that same person's Twitter and was all some big misunderstanding, so who the heck knows.

So, Ratchet dies and Combs is like, "Well, show OVER, everyone go home!" ...actually, that would have been kind of awesome. He would have become the character!

I guess he left the cast because they ran out of Ketracel White.
@Transypoo,

Some of those recent movie molds are good! Maybe you'll be ready for them in 2014 when they trot them out again! :smile2:

GAH. The fact that Megatron fears something, and from what we saw... it must be insainly powerful... mind boggingly powerful.

The Star Saber was the blade of PRIMA, dude. It used to have the Matrix of Leadership in its hilt (presumably that's why only Optimus could use it). So yeah. Mega powerful.

I love how the episode reversed the roles, with Prime getting the dangerous new weapon and Megatron saying things like that they had to prevent Prime from obtaining it "No matter the cost " and that this was the Decepticons' "darkest hour." :smile2:

And now, the VERY short story of Stumblebee (also, that Vehicon is either voiced by Mark Hamill or someone channeling him...): http://www.hubworld.com/watch/185932015 ... tumble-bee

New episode up!

That was George Takei as the voice of Alpha Trion!

And man, Megatron's means of regaining his advantage was pretty macabre!
